I seen to have developed a noise at car park speeds, most noticeable at full lock at the bottom of ramps - sounds like outside front tyre is scrubbing - perhaps that all it is, as the car is doing it's best to go straight on even though speed is slow. The sound does give the impression of tread distorting and pinging back as it's forced over the surface at a high slip angle.

The tyres, P6000s with 4-5mm of tread have only been on the front since September so I'm wondering if it's them - perhaps the colder weather is making it more noticeable..

I did jack the car up (on the suspension arms) and give the wheels a good pull/lever to check for ball joint wear and all seems fine - just a minor bit of wheel bearing end float (I think - was the same on both horizontal and vertical axis) to adjust when I have the time.

Thoughts?

Mine has done this with all tyres in the Multi Storey, the floor in a multi storey is very slippery.

Dave!

I had that on the C43 when i drove out of the drive on full lock as you said sounded like the tyre was scrubbing. I had Goodyear F1's fitted when they needed changing i replaced them with Dunlops because they had discontinued the F1's and the noise disappeared.

Yes i have this noise too, when i'm just coming out of full lock, its the tyre rubbing, and it only happens on the drivers side too.

Its absolutely fine as far as i'm aware...
