Important Information On Replacement Licences!

Basically the DVLA are making mistakes when you send off your licence for address change, or 10 year limit on photo licences. People who passed their test and automatically got Group BE, C1, C1E, D1 and D1E find the licence comes back WITHOUT these on. These are groups for towing, 7.5 tonne, minibus, which 'newer passers' do not have.

Take a copy of your licence before you send it off, otherwise you need to take the test again

I moved myself back from Sweden with a 7 ton lorry, on my new licence I can no longer drive it

You have been warned

That happened to me too. I didn't notice it for some time, and funnily enough, neither did the traffic police when they stopped me for riding like a loony on my Laverda :o . I got an endorsement. When I finally did notice it, the DVLA cheerfully told me to take my test again. At my expense

Hmmm ... I notice my wife has lost those entitlements in swapping her German licence for a UK one. Wonder if there's anything we can do?

There are number of members who have been caught by this and they are stuck with either retaking the test or driving technically illegally! But no - it's not new there were an umber of threads on it at the time.
