Ultra low mileage CLK55........

That's a very nice looking car!
I would happily pay £26k for a 2003 car but it would have to be an e46 M3 coupe :)
I wish i could find an e46 M3 with 5k on the clock for £26k
Or an E30 M3 with 5k miles for £26k…! :) 🤔

What is "Ultra Low" mileage vs "Low Mileage"?
Not sure, but for a car that has been in semi regular use c. 250 miles PA over almost two decades has to be up there

I have previously owned 5 190's and probably lost well over 10 grand on them faffing about - and my total mileage in all of them combined - probably less than 1000 miles !
I’ve had a few 190Es too, ironically I think I did less than 1000 miles in the last two but they appreciated by about that amount during my ownership (both now sold).

I’m no better off for it though, it probably pays for the last two year’s worth of depreciation on my GL I would guess

I sold all of mine just before the values rocketed so it's probably best to completely ignore everything I've said on this thread (Double doh !)

I’d pay £26,000 for lots of cars from 2003. But not this one.

Very low mileage Brabus Roadsters come up for sale from time to time, and I’m very tempted to get one, and then use it as intended.

It would of course lose value but I’d probably never manage to get the value as low as an average mileage car. Sounds like cheap fun motoring to me.

The value of this CLK 55 is a touch higher, but the principle is the same.

I think people see the prices of these crappy old Fords going through the roof and they simply jump on the bandwagon.
Crappy or Classic ? Who knows what the future classic is, and when we do its too late as we have sold it on.
My brother had one of these, and I had the later model D reg version in red, both immaculate when we sold them for a pittance.
My cars claim to fame was centre page in Fast Ford magazine and the RS owners club stand at Stanford Hall.

I had one of them when I was about 23 years old which would’ve been 1990. C402 ETM.

I chopped it in for an RS500 Cosworth in late 1991 which got nicked in Feb 92.

That would be something! I think for an e30 M3 with 5k miles you'd have to add a 1 before the 26k :D

Me too and as nice as this car is, I personally wouldn't buy it but then again someone might like this model clk amg as much as I like e46 M3's so I can't judge.
I also think it would have looked better with the other style AMG wheels this model came with. I don't think this wheels make it stand out

Are E46 M3’s really going for that kind of price now?

Wow. I wouldn’t want to drive it.
Not an expert on BMW pricing, but Sam87 should know. I think you’re looking at mid teens to mid twenties for a decent E46 M3, a 5k miler would surely attract a strong premium?

It would have to be a very good e46 M3 for mid twenties imo

The prices have gone crazy the last 9 moths on the e46 M3's.
I sold both my M3's recently ( not sure if I made the right decision ) and my convertible that had 28k on the clock and it was a january 2003 model sold for more than this CLK's asking price.

Whereas as the CSL M3's are crazy money now, for a very low mileage one ( 40k miles or so ) you'd have to £80k+ to £100k+

I wish I had bought a CSL 10 years ago when I bought my convertible as the CSL's were around £27k at that time.

If only we knew what the prices of some cars would be in the future we all would have kept some of our cars for sure :)

I was looking at E46 M3 cabrio’s back in summer 2018. Im sure a pukka version was around £15,000 back then.
I was just starting a good earner over at HS2 Euston so I really should’ve bought one.

Oh well.

I reckon we could bump this thread in five or so years and some people would be quite surprised at the prices of some of the cars being discussed :)

I remember various threads over the years where people didn’t seem to understand the values of 190E 16vs - look at the values of those over the last 5 or so years.

Darrell, was it an RS500 you had or a regular 3-door RS Cosworth?

Nice low mileage RS500s are making £100k+ nowadays

They only came in black if i remember correctly

RS500. In black.
Like this
