Unswept area adjacent to A pillar (W211)

Hi,

It *appears* like my unswept area of my windscreen on my W211 is getting wider (i.e driver's side wiper not wiping as far as it was). I mean the piece that runs vertically down the side of the A pillar, drivers side.

Just measured it - 70mm from edge of glass to the edge of swept area.

Do other folks have a similar unswept area?

You could just adjust the wiper arm.

True, but that would mean it would sit higher up on the screen in the off (horizontal) position.

Was wondering whether it was a software controlled setting (i.e. how far it swept over)

The linkage is mechanical, either the ball joints are wearing or the arm is bending.

If the side unswept area increases the wiper must sit lower at rest.

I'm not *sure* the unswept area is getting wider, it just feels like it is!

Don't think so, it is more how *far* they wipe, rather than how *well* they are wiping
