Well as the new parent of 2 year old twins things change and I need £20k or so for house mods.
Tried to sell my plate but only offer was £13k I won't sell it for that so the SL55 has to go.
Last car I sold privately was the Maserati in a mad year that saw the CLS55 and DB9 all sold quickly and privately all in 16 months.
Anyone sold a car privately in the £20+ bracket recently? Is the market still there?
Retail is bloody awful as punters wait for sales to start so I can't take a wedge out of the biz.

A lot of the problems selling cars is unsecured loans are now £15000 rather than £25000.

Makes getting those low rate loans for a £15000+ car a bit tricky for many.

What retail are you in?

I sell phones - retail domestic and trade commercial - all the retro crap sells at this time of year but not yet.

I have a feeling I've bought a couple of phones from you, if you have a presence on a well-known internet auction site. I was very pleased with my purchases!

Well not in the 20k bracket but for even 15k, my sl didnt sell for over 2 months now and then I just decided to keep it. Just be prepared to wait. It takes time and lits of calls, email and tyre kickers.

I would guess the time of year is against you two fold, winter/Christmas,but you just never know.Good luck.:thumb:

Went on pistonheads at 2pm and had 4 enquiries already, 2 from dealers I think, one offered to come up with £18k immediately!! One guy seems keen - we shall see.

Good luck. :thumb:

Its a buyers market at the moment, especially in that price range. I'm looking round and seeing lots of nice cars at good prices, some have been up for 2 or 3 months now. Realistic pricing is the key to a fast sale, or go with a dealer on sale or return.

I've not seen many, over PH and trader I've seen 3 nice ones including mine but I rule out anything with turbines, over 40k and in silver. It's too cheap to SoR you would only do that for serious stuff, I think I will go but I'm in no hurry.

As others have said it's a buyers market. The trend seems to be to throw an offer at something - if it sticks I'll they'll have it. You might be able to ride it out for £19.5k but I'm not sure you'll get much more than that.
