Using a car cover for the winter when outside overnight?

Thanks for all the advice - a car port looks the best to keep the snow off. I've invested in a porter cable polisher and a cover will certainly do the paintwork no good!1 As I'm in deepest aberdeenshire I think that a windscreen cover may be the best bet for the frost.

I have two - an indoor and an outdoor cover. The outdoor cover travels in the boot if I go away but generally I wouldn't advocate using them every day.

I Live next to the sea and was thinking of getting a car cover for my w124. I use the car everyday
After reading this, is it better not to use one at all ?
