Both my tyres are wearing abnormally on the utmost inner part of the front tyres. In my mind the cause of this is weak tierod ends. The struts, springs, and both suspension and thrust arms are new. Car has had an alignment too. Car is an e350 cls 2010

Common problem which will not get solved with tracking - had exactly that on my CLS and was cured by 3 adjustable camber bolts (MB no longer fit these as standard but they can be bought from MB and retro fitted). The camber, caster and tracking then needs to be setup outside of MB's recommended to counter the effects of our cambered roads. I had mine done by Wheels in Motion (WIM). As your in Scotland that is probably way to far away. What I found is that most tracking places will only setup the suspension according the 'the machine' which is useless. The other option is to find a racing outfit, or similar, that sets up cars for the track and get them to do it. WIM even asked how I would like the car to drive as part of their setup - they could adjust for better turn in or more stability at speed.

Just avoid continually getting the tracking adjusted because this will not solve it and will just empty your wallet.

90 percent of excess inner tyre wear is caused be too much toe out (or towing out under load on rear drive cars due to soft bushings)...not too much camber.

Look at all the suspension joints and bushes for wear firstly. They do wear in that manner and always have btw.

Not according to WIM who fixed mine because my tacking was perfect according to MBs figures and they were not toe'd out and no towing involved. They blame MB's settings that were designed for completely flat German roads. Similar problem used to exist with Lexus until WIM solved the problem and Lexus took it on board for the UK. WIM advised that they see this a lot with MBs and I have no reason to doubt their expertise as it has fixed my issue of front inner tyre wear as others have found that have used them.

This does assume the rest of the suspension is in good order as BlackC55 has suggested.

Fair enough....but I would not mind betting that one of the improvements they made to cure wear was more toe in than stock. My friend runs a track day MX5 on the road....lowered so much it had ridiculous camber....no excess inner tyre wear on that.
My ALFA destroys the inner edges of the fronts on stock setting (known issue) zero the cures it.

And don't straddle speed bumps.... ?
