I bit the bullet and bought the car!
Well, I bit the bullet and bought the car. Adding to my growing collection of older Mercs! My other half doesn't know yet, but hey, I can park it around the corner and choose the right time to come clean!
I hope to pick it up at the weekend, so we shall see what it's like. I bought unseen, but I have been lucky with ebay so far...fingers crossed.
The car has had 4 owners from new, first registered in Liberia, hence the low compression engine, cyclone air filter, harder springs and undershields. It has service history for the later years, but not earlier and MOTs since 1993.
It might be a keeper or maybe a bit of cleaning up, fettling and sell on...depends what the other half says!

Well, I've picked up the car and it is pretty damn clean. I'll spend Monday cleaning her up and seeing what needs doing (after I have sorted the sunroof, which opened perfectly twice on the way home, then tilted again perfectly, now won't close! Let's hope it's a simple fix...sunroofs can be a nightmare as I've heard). It's got a lovely gaffa taped sunroof now!

You can close the sunroof manually. There's a nut on the motor end of the mechanism, inside the boot, nearside. At least, that's where it is on an estate.
