Vibration after 100mph

Your avatar isn't the wheel in question is it? If so you'll have to change ur avatar ;). :D

Your call on the claim option - wasn't meaning to imply you should do anything dodgy but in all seriousness I would wonder if the stress imposed by the wheel rotating rapidly would gradually worsen any slight deformation.

If its in the other dimension (by which I guess you mean flattened) then I suppose they can't be related.

She was still a dozy @&%^ though.

Agree with C240 on this - don't want the car thrown into the bushes due to a blow out with a faulty rim - would suspect that the insurance co would try to wiggle out of any claim as well given you're knowingly driving a defective vehicle. (if they could prove it)

Out of interest ... do people take out special cover for these "200 mph down a runway" type events?

I wouldn't be attmepting a 200Mph run with a dodgy wheel.

Could have severe consequences.

Took the car in today and found the problem - front drivers side wheel is bent

Looks like the mammoth potholes in Hungary are to blame, and for the cost of a new alloy.

The chap spun both front wheels up on the machines in front of me and you can see the deformed on is slightly off round.

Seeing as it's only noticeable over 100mph ill leave it for now, unless it gets worse, or makes my 200mph runway days too nervous!!!

Thanks for your recommendations!

This is pretty common on wider alloy wheels. Some refurbishing companies offer a straightening service. Try Lap-Tap in Brum.

You can blame road humps for this. If you think it may be a local hump then talk to your local council regarding a replacement rim. ;)

Here' a linky dinky: http://www.lap-tab.co.uk/alloywheels.php

If you do change the alloy and get to keep the old one, any chance you would be willing to sell it for really cheap?

I'd stick a piece of glass to the top of it and it'd make a nice little bedside table for my room...... :D

I don't think its possible for the vehicles. However the event organisers sometimes include some kind of basic medical insurance into the cost of the event but thats pretty much it.

Safety at these speed type events is paramount. At RAF Woodbridge (Where Fifth Gear was shot recently) Terry (who is responsible for bookings) is very very strict on safety and any breach of the rules results in immediate dismissal off the site. Nothing takes place without an ambulance and firetruck on site and certainly on the bikes at least, Scrutineering of both vehicles and safety equipment is very thorough.
