Vibrations in drive (d), when warm, low revs

Hi guys!

Firstly I wanted to say hello, its the first post on this forum.

I have a common problem with my 2002 CLK320 W208 Coupe.
Problem:
Car runs perfectly, although when it gets warm round 80 C it shakes a little when in drive. The rpms come down just a little and you can feel a rattle.
I notices that when it gets above 80 degrees when its hot than it shakes less.

Secondly, the fault is more noticeable in Drive. When the car is in N revs go up as engine is less stressed and it doesnt vibrate as much.

Thirdly, I noticed that when in Drive "Idle" e.g. when waiting on red light RPMs are low. They are below 500, approximately 400.

What was done:
Spark plugs changed, coils and wires checked, diagnosed (no codes), MAF checked. One guy gave me a forte injector cleaner:

It is hard to say if it helped. It seems like it did a bit but the problem still exist.

My suspicion is throttle body or throttle body actuator. At least that is the next thing I would like to check.
If anybody has a DIY guide how to get to throttle body and disassemble it from the engine than I would be very grateful as I couldnt find any. I tried two times to take the air intake off but I failed unfortunately.

Anybody has any experience with this problem ??

Welcome to the forum! Has the car been on STAR to see if any fault codes are logged? If not, you're wasting your time and money by guessing.

Totally agree with the above. You could also try giving it a good 100 mile hard blast up the Motorway which is what I had to do with mine and which solved the same problem as you have virtually.

Anybody cleaned the throttle body on their own??

I would clean the throttle flap first just by squirting carb cleaner into it after removing the intake trunking.

Mine was showing on Star as misfire cylinder 6. I changed the coil pack ,plugs, leads etc as i had convinced myself it was electrical as both plugs were damp and smelling of petrol. Turned out the injector was jammed virtually shut but was just dribbling petrol into that cylinder. Also if i gunned mine it had a big hiccup at 4000 revs which then cleared after the injector was changed.

I can easily take the first part off. I mean the one between filter and MAF.
Unfotrunately I have no idea how to get the rest off. Any help??

MarkJunedd, mine did not show any faults on STAR and engine works perfectly when gunned. Did you noticed shaking when engine was cold?

What are your RPMs on idle in Drive??

Yes I did have shaking in drive at idle, rpm was if i remember as low as 500 and i could feel the car rocking.
