vito 108cdi 68f250, 77 z1000 72xs650,74xs,
Hello again everyone
Can anyone tell me what the differences are in the injectors in the 108cdi range. I have been told that there are 3 different injectors for the 108 and they changed throughout the series.
I am still playing with my 2000 vito and have it to the point where now I can start it easily after sitting for a couple of weeks but it still only runs on 2.
I have purchased a 2004 model van and was considering a complete engine swap but would first like to explore the possibility of either using the injectors or maybe just doing a head swap should that be possible.
Can anyone tell me if they have either done this or is it possible and are the ecu's compatible with the different injectors as the 2000 is manual and the 04 auto and I really don't want to have to change any wiring

I now have the engine prefix for both engines. The 2000 is 611980501 and the 04 is 611980507.

I have a 2003 108 Vito. The injectors are an absolute mare to get out - I managed with a special tool which was about £20 on ebay. Even then the force required to remove the injectors was tremendous.

Nevertheless I did manage to get them all out. One of them was slightly different, so you might not have too much of a problem with using different ones. But don't take my word for that - I don't have that great a knowledge of the injectors. Advice I would give is take utmost care to keep the interior of the injectors clean as removal requires partial disassembly in situ.

And see my thread from a couple of weeks ago about the miniscule ball bearings. These are about the size of a full stop on your screen, and are the las component to remove from the injectors along with a sort of tiny cup for them to sit in.

Good luck!

Hi again - re-read your post. You can't take the head off without removing the injectors first. Ironically there's nothing wrong with my injectors - I need to change the head gasket.

hi there which tool was this on ebay as I have one thats stuck and wont budge the other 3 came out easily? Thanks Steve.

Hi guys and thanks for your input. I haven't as yet tackled the job but the more info I can get prior to doing so the less likely I am to strike trouble

if you use penetrating WD40 a few days before hand, take the stretch bolt out and injector holder, keep lubricating it, and every few hours fire the van up, it should loosen off, make sure your engine is stone cold, and give it 24 hrs to let the pressure drop in the injection system as they can be lethal, when you replace it use Honda replacement injector seal part no 16472-RB_E00, its a much more superior seal, I have been through all this and had a chuffing injector, a google search and found about about the Honda seal, and always use new stretch bolts,
