Vito 111 CDI .New Member , First time van driver , first time Mercedes owner

Hi All,

This is day 1 of being a Van Owner and Merc owner.

Just got a 2008 , Vito CDI 111. Dualliner .

Few questions , can i move the spare wheel ?
Can i change the front seats into a captains chair ?

Where can i fold some fold down flat seats for the year ?

Lots of questions that i am using Google to assist , just hoping to get there quicker from here

Mission is to turn the back into a day van ish.

Re. the spare, what length is your Vito (compact, long, extra long)?

If it's a compact there isn't enough room behind the rear axle for an under-slung spare wheel carrier, which is why it ends up on a bracket inside the van. Your only option is not to bother with a spare (have a can of tyre sealant and small compressor instead - this is standard in some cars nowadays).

There are a few guys on here who have done a lot of Vito mods. including seating changes - run a few searches and you should get some good info.

The rear (centre row) seating on my 2007 Dualiner flips/folds/reclines ... is that what you mean? Those are called 'comfort seats'.

Thank you for your reponse. Not sure if its compact/long or extra long . Why ?? Cause im a pigme however im guessing its compact or long.

The Compact and Long have the same wheelbase ... the extra space is added behind the rear axle. The Extra Long is extended in front of the rear axle, so has a longer wheelbase. NB the Long is often wrongly advertised as 'long wheelbase'!

Hi & welcome to the forum, I've gone down the Kenwood route myself with built in DVD then put in there reversing camera which is superb. I know others have used NTG 2.5 but its down to cost & personal choice.. Regarding the seats I've done it, with help from Zenman's instructions, have a look for my thread i'm sure it will help you too..

Wot for the reversing camera?? Kenwood only do 2 types, I think mine was around the £200 mark!! As for the head unit u just need to shop around to see wot is best for your needs!!

Hi, A 2008 vito needs Audio 20 or NTG2.5, it does the lot in one unit and sound great.
Keep an eye on ebay.
As for camera if you go NTG2.5 you need and good one with NTSC format.
What cluster have you got?

No not that one mate, has to come out of an A class or vito to be able to fit the dash in the vito . That one is from an E class and is a completely different shape

You mean to play a movie?
If you want all the bells then it has to be the NTG2.5 and yes it plays dvd movies it has outputs for rear screens, reversing camera input, sat nav, phone, SD card and hard drive built in.
Sound is also Very good, they make a cd changer as well all built in so you load the disc in the cd slot all 6.
Ebay again look for ntg2.5.
