Im having bother with my 2008 Vito 639 for months, it is randomly and often activating the emergency lighting showing on the highline dash (am i right in thinking it switches to fog lamps?) after switching on the headlights.
What i normally notice is i switch the headlights on, nothing happens for about 5 seconds then the dip beam light illuminates, lights come on and the beep and "emergency lighting active". It will then disappear randomly (whatever is broken must fix), then come back and go away again at random intervals.
The other night i done a 3.5 hour trip in the dark, after the first 1.5hrs the fault stopped coming up and the lights worked as they should with no fault on the dash.
Sometimes its okay, but not often.
Fault code logged and read by Star is B1037-001 Component N10 SAM has activated the emergency lighting- The signal from S1 (exterior light switch) is implausible.
Obviously, i changed the light switch. Hasnt cured it!
I read that dodgy bulbs can cause emergency lighting, but the fault code doesnt point towards that, and surely after 3 months a dodgy bulb would have blown!?
Really hoping someone can help, its driving me crazy and i love my Vito otherwise!
