Hi guys.

Another quick one please. Lately my vito 108 cdi (02) is very slow turning over first thing. After 10 secs or so of struggling it kicks in and is fine all day after. Just been serviced recently as well.

Does it sound like the battery or could it be something else?

Cheers.

Hi ya, it will be the battery, to be certain see what the voltage is first thing in the morning, i bet its 12.5 v or lower. In cold weather it takes a lot more juice to spin it over. If it is an old battery it will still proberly be alright in the summer. Try giving it about 20 secs of heater plug first thing till you get a fresh battery, dont rely on the glow plug sign just count to 20

Cheers Martin

Check all the starter leads and connections also make sure the engine earth cable is ok. If the battery checks out ok and all the connections are good then it may be the starter is on the way out.
