Anyone got a good source without spending a fortune? Especially I need the ones at the bottom of the rear windows, and along the top of the doors. The ones along the top of the window aperture don't seem too bad.

This may be how water is getting into the passenger side footwell. Then again, it could be sunroof drains.

Since the demise of Forestfine I think the MB dealer is the best source. They we're cheaper than forestfine anyway when I replaced the seals on my car. You often see the upper seals on ebay from a Thai supplier. I think I've read that the quality is ok but they dont always come with the 'flock' style coating.

Mercedes benz w123 coupe DOOR WINDOW SEALS 280ce 300cd on eBay (end time 25-Oct-10 20:05:25 BST)

The rear window lower seals should be available from the dealer at a reasonable(ish) price. It was in '08 when I got mine from MB Harrogate and they were £64 each. They are a fairly complex moulding though so I guess the price is justified. The part nos are 1236700938 and 1236701038 (one is right, one left)

Your leak could be from a number of places but I would suspect front and rear screen seals (about £70 and £100 respectively) as likely culprits - this was the case on mine anyway.

Hope this helps

If it is the front passenger footwell ,I don't think the door seals will be your issue.

Check the sunroof drains and also the windscreen rubber. Even a tiny hole in the windscreen area can cause puddles in the footwell.

I had the same issue with my W123 Coupe and it was the windscrean seal. Unfortunately if this is the case, it also means properly repairing any rust in that area as well. Also the screen needs to be reinserted by someone that knows what he is doing.

The rear screen seal is also famous for leaks.

thanks guys things to think about. Luckily, the top seals don't seem too bad, as they look to be pricey. I will study the front and rear screen seals for problems... I'd have thought sunroof drain issues would leave some indication in the interior, on the headlining or somewhere, and there isn't any dampness there...
