W124 300CE headlight wiper intermittent fault

My left hand headlight wiper stays on sometimes when lights are on after windscreen washer has been used. Right hand one behaves correctly. Also this causes them to park out of synch. Any ideas ????

One wiper motor has switch contacts that feed the other motor. So logically the one with the switch (offside?) is at fault

Yes. The connector has extra pins

Should they operate all the time the windscreen wiper is on, or should they just do one sweep when the washer is operated ??
