Hey all

I have recently bought a W124 300TE, 1989. It doesn't have the roller blind for covering the luggage/boot area, the one with the combined mesh dog guard.

I don't see any obvious signs of fixing in the car, either behind the seats, the roof or the tailgate. Anyone have experience of these?

The blind / guard cassette fits into the rear seat backs by sliding into a slot. If your rear seats don't have the slot you're out of luck. The cassettes do turn up on eBay but they are big & heavy to ship

I've seen estates without rear headrests (I had one) but all I've seen have had a cassette, or mounting for one

What colour is the interior?

I've just had a look and there are no slots.

Might be because this car would have been an import. It was owned by the British Government in Hong Kong when first registered, and has KM speedo and a few other little differences. Looks like this is one of them, which is a bummer as I could do with not having the contents of my boot on display.

What do the slots look like? Are they an integral part of the design of the seats, or a bracket that attaches?

Cheers

they are an integral part of the rear seat backs -I'm with Nick on this one, I've never seen one without these brackets fitted

If I have time, I'll get a photo for you. Can't believe I have such rare seats! But then, that's just my kind of luck!

I don't mind buying the roller blind casette, but I'm not buying new seats too!

What I really need is to see another TE and get an idea of what I'm dealing with.

It looks like this:

The cassette's only attached to the long (nearside) rear seat. It fits in a long plastic slot set in the back of the seat

I can't justify replacing the rear seats just to have the roller blind. The seats are in good condition, and are going to cost a lot more than just a blind. Maybe I can fashion a slot bracket.
