AMG or not, that is a very tidy car. I quite like that.

Is there an AMG of this car?

Looks nice, any how.

Yep, W124 E36 Saloon, coupe, cabriolet and estate :)

That car does have the period AMG kit on it.

So, is this one of them?

Any figures from the knowledge base?

I'm looking for a runner with a bit of poke as my 300 sportline is losing its edge;)

Don't think there's much AMG about it in performance terms - the proper E36's had a 3.6 litre engine and performance to match, that ebay one is a sheep in wolf's clothing ;)

Ah.........

I always thought the engine was too small to be fettled.

Forgive me for being dumb, what's the entry level AMG from a 300 24v Sportline? M3 equiv?

Well my coupe has the AMG kit and wheels which was about a £5k factory option. You could have a kit on anything, Ive seen a e220 manual with a amg factory kit.
In terms of performance upgrades, amg did a m103 that was a 3.0ltr bored out to a 3.4 and also did a m104 that was a 3.2 bored out to a 3.6.

Ta.

I'm talking standard cars.

What's my next upgrade from my 1990 300E 24v Sporltine for not much cash?

I have a fast car (Jap) but would like a newer Merc that doesn't shout, "I'm fast, get out of my way".

Not much to be honest - E500 isn't cheap and will be LHD, E36 is going to be expensive. Vlad (a forum member) was selling a turbocharged E300 a while ago, but that wouldn't have been a 'budget' car.

Stick with what you've got unless you want to spend lots! :)

E500 prices are really coming down recently (£4k will probably get you somewhere), although, yes in terms of petrol and possibly running costs they can drain the wallet!

Seems odd that they used a 3.2 for the E36 but a 2.8 for the C36!

Quick question on AMG bodykits...how do you spot a fake kit from an original?

Does the AMG kit have AMG stamped into it anywhere??

Cheers

Vlad

Anybody know the answer or has anybody got a genuine AMG Kit on their car and could they have a quick look to see if there are any identifying marks and if so where....much appreciated.
