W124 E300D multivalve (1994) diff ratio

does anyone know (to save me crawling under the car in the dark tonight) what diff radio a 1994 W124 E300D estate should use?

Hi Dereks,

Druk I have PM's you the vin of my Estate and Saloon. It would like to know if there is any different between the Estate and Saloon car's ratios. Both my cars are 24v Diesels.

If it's a 4 speed auto they come with a 3.07 diff, part of the reason why they are so slow.

Yup both 4 speed autos in my case. I bung it into 3rd or 2nd for round town stuff.

Looks like estates are 3.07 but your saloon Vin is saying 2.87 John.

So i'm looking for a 3.07 diff for a W124..... i cant find one for a reasonable price (under £150)

does anyone know if a W210 3.07 diff will fit correctly?

I've got a 3.07 left over from the manual gearbox swap, but I think buckinghamshire is a long way away from you?
