Mines looks a little tired and disintegrating in parts. What's the recommendation to resolve? Do mercedes do a replacement one or is there something better out there?

MB original replacement quoted to me was less than £150 installed. After 22 years that seems fine to me.

I did ours a couple of years ago. It was less than £50 for the part from what I remember. Not hard as a DIY but worth getting the special glue from MB though I am sure there are plenty of others you can use. Just make sure you cover the engine with an old sheet when you remove the old insulation. It will disintegrate into tiny pieces and get everywhere.

As well as the insulation , there is a rubber seal on the front of the bonnet. It seals the gap between the bonnet and slam panel..

Make sure you use a high temperature trim fix glue..or else the insulation comes off.
