HI all,

I have a 1995 E36 AMG with the standard 400mm leather trimmed steering wheel with an airbag. Of course it's now getting worn.

Has anyone had one restitched or is it cheaper to have the rim replaced?

cheers!

Change it for a wood\leather wheel. Changes the look of the interior, and feels nicer too. I had a spare which I sold to SilverSaloon recently, he was more than happy with it.
If you want to stick to leather buy a new one, you'll never cover up the wear.

I've never worn a steering wheel out even in cars I've driven very high annual mileages - 50,000 miles p.a. in a couple of cars.

How does that happen? Picking at the stitching, white knuckle grip or ????

Guessing it goes glossy - mine has a bit of a sheen but you can still see the grain of the leather - my Dad's Omega's leather had lost its grain around the top and felt plasticky and horrible.

The stitching around the top half of the rim is coming undone on mine.

How do you find prices from Gericia? Do you have to email them? Are their steering wheels any good?
