Thanks, I can't quite make out if that tank is the right one for my car as the pictures are poor.
I'm curious if a diesel tank from any other Merc Estate model would be an exact fit

Having just fitted one to a 300D Estate yes, you need the right one. The one that was obtained for me came from German ebay. Ask Rob77 for the sellers ID as he may have another.
