W124 seats - which is the correct one

Good on you!! Do a bit at a time to see if you are going in the right direction. If not, pull the foam out and go see D-class, lots of good reviews about them on here. BUT I think a taylor fitting by yourself is the way to go with this.

I just used a high quality foam rubber, I am in NZL so I can't point you to a store in the UK - sorry. But get some really decent stuff, specialist shops should have a range, I just used scissors to trim it up. Might pay to get some different thicknesses too.

Dinoy - where do I go to get my seats repaired? I'm doing 500 miles a week in a seat that's starting to make me feel like my skeleton was put in wonky.

Would happily pay someone money to make my seat comfy again - can't be bothered with all this DIY stuff, looking for parts that are NLA, spanners, etc.

Dorset Knob, is your user name inspired by the pub on Alder Rd? If so, Kevin Baggs is on the estate behind the pub, and they are good!

MD5 - nah, it's inspired by those bready-biscuity things they make down in Bridport. Same inspiration as the pub name, probably.

Kevin Baggs looks handy though, thanks for the link!

I just replaced the spring base and sponge / horse hair body of my 300D's driver's seat squab. I used the reinforced version (they were both the same price) - I am 6'3" and 16 stone so thought it might be a better bet than the standard version.

What a difference! The seat is now superb and fits like a glove.

Thoroughly recommend the job - well worth the money if you are doing lots of miles.

i tried to swap over a cloth seat cover for a leather one severasl months ago when i was swapping my cloth trim for leather,

i found it very difficult to remove the covers, just removing the leather headrest cover was a real struggle as you have to get the angle just right to release the securing clip

as for the seat cover, i managed to remove the back plate and various bits, but could not pull the cover off, it was like it was stiched to the padding of the seat.

as it stands i currently have drivers seat in cloth and the rest of the interior in leather

i will try and tackle this again when i return to the uk in several weeks, but fear that i will have to take it to cass brothers in bromley when i have some spare cash

i was told when i bought the leather it was a straight forward process to remove the seat covers, i sure didnt find it that way

good luck with yours
