W124 Sportline wishbones

On a more positive note............

Try contacting fellow foumite "Franey". He supplies febi Bilstein parts at discount prices. febi do an OE spec wishbone, complete with ball joint and bushes (which do wear - especially on a car with 170k miles) and it can be a royal pain to get the bushes out. Once you have got the parts (including the wishbone bolts which should also be replaced at the same time - Franey can supply these too). Find a specialist with the correct MB spring compressor and have him fit the lot in one go. Not a big job if you have the right tools and equipment. You'll need to have the car tracked again afterwards, but once the job's done you can relax in big old comfy estate for the next 100k miles.

Febi have a habit of getting the bushes installed incorrectly including fitting the the wrong bushes in each location. Check the MB installation instructions especially the bit about the different hardness bushes, where they go and the installation orientation. It would appear from first hand experience Febi have not!!
Fit the genuine example Gents. My "replacement arms" will be comming off, and the MB ones will be going on!
