Have an odd problem with my W124 saloon sunroof. Basically one side won't fully shut, with it tilted up I can just about see a black plastic arm which looks like its snapped.

The motor appears to work fine- it tilts up ok and slides back a little until it jams.

Hardly life or death but bloody irritating in a crosswind or at 60mph+ with it flapping around & draughty!

Anyone have any knowledge of this problem?

Thanks

I know the bracket you mean but not sure what its called. We had a problem with our sunroof and got these people to repair it Surrey Sunroofs Limited - Sunroof Installation, Servicing and Repairs. Cost £55 for labour. Very professional service. It was just a rubber grommet that had disintegrated and blocked the mechanism. After hearing lots of horror stories about how difficult 124 sunroofs are to repair I was very pleasantly surprised. They seemed to think they were pretty easy to work on.

Very close as well, thanks.

I'm pretty sure this is the part I need replaced

Hi I sold the car before getting around to it but John Haynes in Worthing were able to order the part in & reckoned they could fit it comfortably within 2hrs so not that much of a nightmare... good luck

I've got these brackets from cars I've broken.

If you are interested PM me an email address & I'll send you pics & further details.
