Hi,

Could anybody help, I have a 1987 420SE and am in the process of getting it back to it's glory days. The Air Distribution Switch (Manual) turns but does not distribute the air to any area other than a slight waft to the windscreen on the passenger side. Has anyone experienced this fault or know what exatly is the nature of the problem??

Sanj..

Hi, It is the system with the two tempreture wheels, the tempreture and air volume are fine but when you turn the switch it is not opening the various air channels. Could the switch be broken?

Had this problem on the 124. Apparently the cables that operate the flaps become brittle and break at the connections. The parts are cheap - about £30 for the 124 but its fiddly and time consuming to do. On the 124 most of the dash has to come out to get at the cables. It took the guy who did ours 6 hours! I think the 126 has a similar system.
