Hi All,
Just completed a repair to the sun roof drains and putting it all back together but when I re-fit the rear light roof panel it gapes in the middle almost as if a support missing? I can't see anything missing? anyone else had this happen? and an easy fix would be nice!
Cheers

They get damp and warp. Ugly isn't it. Nothing will reshape it properly. I used some very small brass self tappers to secure it where it warped and it looked fine.

Yes, thought it may have to be that sort of fix! I will give mirror pads ago first I think? loath to put holes in things.
I thought when I expanded the clip thats in the lamp recess to nip it would have done it but no.

Cheers

I took mine off, laid it flat and pasted it with PVA white wood glue and let it dry, its not 100% perfect but close to it.
I like this idea on one of the specials..could put a better light in or put a speaker or something in it...
Wouldnt be difficult to make from Fibreglass and cover in headling material or leatherette?

I retrofitted a rear blind to both of my cars , and the stay helps to keep the panel up .

With the 280 , which was worse , I managed to get a good panel in the right colour from a breaker .

I have heard of people coating the upper side with fibre glass to keep them in shape .

A very common problem sadly .
