Hi all

I have faulty seatbelt presenter on my 1987 420-SEC.

I'm trying to find out if the presenter mechanism is identical on all the W126 SECs or if it changed at all after the 1985 facelift?

Any pointers appreciated, many thanks!

I'm pretty sure its the same. Also check controller under the seat. I replaced the seats in my 560 with nicer ones and all of a sudden the arm started working.

Thanks alabbasi, i'll continue with the research and post my findings - cheers

Are you sure the presenter's faulty? I ask because, in my case, it was a faulty plunger switch by the door hinge.

However, I did have a belt presenter issue and removed the entire assembly. I found that tiny microswitches that detect the position of the presenter were loose. I aligned them parallel with the assembly, tightened them with a bit of red nail varnish (I think it was Chanel Rouge Noir - that'll make all the difference). The presenter has worked fine for the last couple of years.

So, don't assume the worst.

Bon chance.

What is wrong with your presenter? i.e what are the symptoms?
