i need some help regarding my passenger airbag on my w140 coupe. i removed the liner from the glovebox and then removed the 10mm nuts holding the airbag in place. what i want to know is how to disconnect and remove the airbag, obviously i dont want this thing going off on me, is there a procedure to do this. the reason i am removing this is to get to the dash to prize out a dent in the vinyl panel (this caused by vandals when it was broken into) obviously i dont want to fork out 000,s of punds on a new dash panel. thanks

Just leave the ignition off and key out. It will be safe like that

@smoothcoupe I know this is an old thread but i have a similar situation. I am trying to remove a dent on the airbag section of the dash. How did you manage to do that? Also did you just have to remove the liner to access the airbag? Much appreciate your guidance here.
