W140 - shiny!

Do as much as you can panel by panel that way if you run out you can remember what you've missed

The car should last a week, though, shouldn't it? And I take it there's no way to rescue a lumpy, seemingly rusty bonnet star?

lovely work.

i love W140s. just look at the pic below (copied from above) - you can just see the chauffeur opening the door and some really important person emerging.

these cars just ooze class.

Thanks! They're imposing but not really in a bad way. The back is a bit dated but the rest of the car is as good as any RR or Bentley if not better. The interior was designed not to economise, not to be compact, but to be roomy with no expense spared. I mean it's huge inside!

And, I think, it's a timeless model - there are examples from 92/93 and you wouldn't think they were that old. I'm surprised at how well it's aged after my W124 which looked and acted much older!

its just a shame they dont do a RHD diesel 140 :(

Nor did I until now!

OK, this one: MERCEDES BENZ S320 AUTO LIMO L.W.B | eBay and the 300 engine!
A conversion would be fun, I'm sure you can practise in a scrap yard (and look a bit strange swapping engines in cars!) but I'm not sure that engine would shift that huge mass of steel!
