W163 '00 steering issue

Just purchased an x Reg w163 in White and I love it.

The issue I have with the steering is that when I turn into another road, the steering wheel doesn't turn back fast enough to straighten itself and I either have to straighten it myself or go really slowwwly when turning.

None of the cars I have driven in my life does this except a w124 (and the local Indy has told me it's because it's an old car so the steering is like that). The w163 however, was made in year 2000 so I am assuming there is a fault with the one I bought?

check power steering level, also whilst turning steering full on one side have somebody check for leak when u hold it, repeat the same, u have leak from houses.

if nothing get power steering additive and put it in and see if the works, if not then more serious problem with power box

Hi Dinoy, thanks for the reply. Is it correct to say that the steering issue I am experiencing is not normal ie, the steering wheel should be correcting itself sooner like other cars?
