W163 desperate alarm problem

Old board is shot. I forgot to take pics of new board and there's no way I'm getting it out to do that..

How many times do the hazards flash when you lock?
What happens after you lock, does the siren go of and do the hazards flash at the same time?
Do the hazards flash one time when you unlock?
Does the Red alarm LED in the cabin dash flash to show the alarm is armed?

The bottom left in picture is discontinued and should have been replaced by one of the type at the top of picture.
Its hard to know how good the eBay sire is as its used, is the eBay seller reliable do you think and will the do a refund?

Lock car:
No hazards
Inside red led flashes
Unlock car:
1 hazard flash
Siren doesn't sound ( that has stopped) thankfully.

EBay seller seems good but don't they all. Even if it dies I'm not likely to ask for refund.

It looks like I have replaced the old one with the wrong part.

If this is the case why do the hazards flash 3 times when I open door, arm alarm then close door. (Not all doors)

If the seller has an eBay reputation to uphold then the might give a refund, that siren is likely 10 or more years old, its well documented on here, and else where, that those alarm sirens have the life span of around 10 years.Fitting new batteries to something like that is very unreliable.

To me, it sounds like faulty siren, that’s just an educated guess, it could be something else but I doubt it.
If it were me I would either do without the alarm siren or buy a new one from an MB main dealer, about €100, at least with a new siren, if the problem persists, you would know that the fault is somewhere else.

Try testing the alarm as described for a W202 here… http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/electronics/169666-w202-how-test-car-alarm.html

If you open a door… after first unlocking with the remote fob… then the hazards should not flash.
