I have a 2002 W163 ML320 which has developed an odd fault with the central locking. Symptoms as follows:
1. When locking with the key, all doors and tailgate lock except the driver's door. The button on the door looks like it tries to go down a couple of mm then it pops back up again. This fault is intermittent and sometimes it works fine. All other doors are fine.
2. If sat in the car and I use the rocker switch on the central console, all doors lock absolutely fine, including the drivers door.
3. All doors lock absolutely fine when driving away and hitting the 9mph spot.
4. When stopping (and all doors having locked at 9mph), all doors should unlock when opening the drivers door with the handle. This doesn't always happen.
If it's material, I recently changed the keyfob to the spare as the original's battery had gone.
Any ideas what may be the problem ? I'm guessing it isn't the attenuator in the driver's door since the door locks fine under most circumstances. Could this be a relay or fuse issue ?
This has been driving me nuts so any help would be greatly appreciated.
