Could some kind soul please advise me? The lamp which illuminates the window switch panel in my MY2001 ML isn't working. It is probably just the bulb but I do not know how to get to it.

Do I have to remove the whole panel or is there some way to find the light? The light for the cigarette lighter is working but the window switch panel remains illusively dark.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks Malcolm,

Yes, I found that myself but what I am not sure of is whether that buln is the one which illiminates the ashtray or if it is the one which illuminates the switches - or shoudl it do both? I don't know!

I have to say that the Russian EPC is excellent! I actually have the complete EPC and Maintenance manuals on DVD but they only run under Windows XP and I have Vista ;-(

Some one else will come on and answer who knows.

There is a small dash bulb in the rear of the switch panel.

remove the oddments box in the centre console (two small philips screws)

push the panel up from underneath.

That is EXACTLY what I needed to know!

Thanks a million ... project for tomorrow morning (if the rain stops!)

Cheers!
