W201 190
I have a 190 carburettor manual model.

The engine is not idling smoothly and is fairly lumpy.
When I accelerate hard sometimes it gives a few misses then takes off.

I have to date had the carb overhauled, replaced plugs, plug leads, distributor cap, engine mountings (thought it might be causing the lumpiness).

Any suggestions appreciated.

Air filter, restricted exhaust/cat(if fitted) faulty ignition module/manifold to module vac hose? Just a process of elimination. If yours is quite an early model this might not be relevant though as my experience is of the later injected facelift models.

Thanks for the pointers.

It's an early (1987) model, so no cat.

So I guess a check of all vacuum hoses then ?

Yes,the fuel supply (filter/delivery pressure)may be worth investigating aswell.
