w202 breaking my heart as usual

my car is really breaking my heart im starting to hate it my problem is sometimes while driving the car would lose power and the needle on the rev counter would bounce all over the place and the car would feel like its going to stall and when i pull over on the side of the road and turn ignition off and restart it would be ok ive being to mercedes and the done a diagnostics on it and said it was ok so ive replaced spark plugs spark plug leads ignition coils throttle body and fuel filter so far its really driving me mad anyone have some advice for me im just thinking of geting rid of it

i dont think mine has a maf it has a air mass sensor going in just before the throttle body on the air intake hose my car is a 95

i have another c200 95 automatic as a donor car will the loom go straight into mine and how to i rule out the short to earth

Thats a good question - is the rev counter acting erratically or is the engine acting erratically (i.e engine revs are not that erratic when compared to the rev counter?).

N.B Typical failure mode the Crank Sensor is cutting out when hot and not restarting untill it's cooled a bit - but it could be non-typical failure.

the engine does be spluttering and shaking like mad as well and it does be reving itself like its trying to stop it stalling if that makes sense

Have you tried running with the air-mass sensor disconnected?

no not yet it, doesnt happen all the time some times when i come to a stop and start to take off it will act up aswell

just an update today i went on a drive and it happened again it only seems to happen when just over 80 running temperature instead of turning the car off i left it while it was spluttering and it went up to 2000 revs and slowley went down to idling and it was grand then drove home and it didnt happen again i also changed the ovp relay just to rule out things anyone have any suggestions on what it could be

Try disconnecting the air-mass sensor when it's running badly.

By "same as it was" do you mean still running badly, or it was running fine at the time and carried on the same?
