hi guys... my mums W203 boot lid flings open and rocks the whole car... where as on my W202 it just pops open about a few inches... is this normal or is there something wrong.????
TIA
Hi,
Check if the springs adjacent to the boot hinges behind the boot's interior panelling are still attached, as the anchor points for these springs can shear, through fatigue and stress in my opinion, though others may say corrosion.

Also there are different anchor holes, so with a bit of strength you can move the springs to a different hole and adjust the tension. I adjusted mine down so the lid only popped open a bit (but could then be flicked open with one finger), rather than deliver a swift uppercut to anyone stood nearby.
