Hi everyone,
this is my first post... anyway, close to the problem/mystery
first of all my alarm goes off every so often... but it's not a big problem, as most of the time i keep my key fob beside my bed so i can turn it off and back on again without having to leave my bed:) on top of that another mystery - when i have my key in ignition and turn to position 3 (engine starting) driver side back door window does down (electric window) and it stops once key is in position 2. Now this morning at 5 am i started my car no probs. then started about 20 mins later - no probs. Then another 20 mins later won't start - not a click once i turn key into position 3 (window wasn't moving either). Could not start at all. Decided to check starter just in case some wire is loose, but could not see anything wrong. knocked couple times to the back of the starter, tried to start and she started. I think it's time to sort all out but not sure where to start.

Any suggestions please?

Regards,

Egis

What condation is the battery in , its not uncommon for failing batterys to cause all sorts for electrical weirdness , and the winter will be the hardest time of year for batterys . May be worth having yours checked . If this check out to be ok then the next step would be having the car scanned with STAR to check for any fault codes

Hi,
As above, check the the condition of the car battery, if ok, turn the alarm motion sensors off (they are fitted to the top of the "B" piller) via the dash switch or alternatively put tape over them.
If everything is ok it could very well be the back-up battery in the alarm siren itself, as its a very common fault, because of the age of the car.

thanks for replays guys, will see friend of mine to check my battery as from my point of view it's fine...

andy, just remembered that it helped some time ago if i leave inside sensors off for the night or for the day (about a year ago) as didn't happened so often in past few months.

Hi All, here is an update: last night car refused to start at all... bought battery this morning (£63 if anyone is interested in prises) but no diference whatsoever, called recovery, and then while car was taken from lorry i tired to start on gear and it started, so waiting now for my appointment tonight 8.30pm to get started changed (£40 2nd hand)... we'll see if that will help. no probs with alarm so far anyway...
