hi does any one have any ideas where or if you can get an induction kit for a C230kompressor all i can find is one's for the newer model or just pannel filters
i was inspired to do this mod by this video i think it sound nice

YouTube - w202 cold intake and magna flow exhaust

this one is a custom made one but i wonderd if you can buy them?

That kit looks like it is a one off piece built to fit, and yuo will have to do the same

It is very similar to what I do with the turbo conversions but I steer away from steel intake pipework under the bonnet where possible as it will absorb heat and somewhat reduce the "cold air" part of the intake :)
Take the cold air directly from the flowing airstream, but not too low as you can inadvertently draw in water under a partial flood conditions - this is seriously bad news for conrods and a lot of engines are written off because of it.
For a turbo conversion, aftermarket intakes are a necessary evil, however for a NASP car I wouldn't bother as MB probably make the induction system more than capable of supporting a light power hike. Finally if you just want the noise then do it - but don't expect miracles in in terms of a performance upgrade- Intakes kits rarely do that unless the original was very restrictive.

Company on ebay do the induction kit green filters i'm sure they are called.
Lots of members on here do not advise it as it can damage the Air Flow Meter.

o right ! thankyou i was thinking if i did make one i was going to take the cold air from the beak cooloing duct do you think that is too low?

the only other option i was thinking was to build the cold intake into thins bonnet i made

You made that? Did you make any others - I'd like one of them on my C43 :thumb:

no i only made that as a 1 off tryal!
i have taken it off atm as its crosswinds catch the ridge in the center!
iv never seen a C Class with any sorta bonnet vent!
i was tempted to sell it but it needs work!
iv got some more pics ill put on later see how i built it

nothing meant by the comment, its just a very unusual bonnet for a car like the W202. Each to their own but in my opinion it does not suit the car and i cant see any practical reason for having such vents. The intercooler is at the front of the car so it is already getting max airfow. Putting your air intake there wont be of any benefit either and it may even be an area of low or negative pressure? I could also be talking complete rubbish - it has been known!

i can see what you mean!
im just one off them ppl who thinks why not lol
different i spose!

As a first attempt at modifying I'd give you full credit for attempting because if we didn't try different things we would never find out new things for ourselves. However, MBs are more used to subtle changes rather than 'in your face' mods. IMHO it would have been better to cut smaller, flatter vents into the bonnet rather than a big vent which you said yourself catches the cross winds.

The only bonnet bulges you need are some subtle SL/SLK-style "power domes". Lots of other MB models have them now, ML, GL, C63 etc.

I realise "subtle" isn't the look you were going for but believe me in a couple of years you might appreciate it :)

lol !since i put that bonnet on it has definitely turned heads

Will the tsunami of water that will pour down there when it is parked up not kill your coil packs and other electrics ?
