So I've gotten my hands on another W202 for a yet another rally...

That said, it has the SRS light on the dash - my belief is that this is on because it's had an interior transplant; including the side airbags (it now has a leather interior for a sport model - but it's a classic).

Is this a STAR only fix, or is there an alternative?

Passenger weight switch under seat?

W202 ABS can also be tested and reset using the Autel MaxiDiag EU702, if you don't access to proper STAR.

Will check the passenger sensor - is it just the red/black cable under the seat?

I'll pick up one of the autel units off ebay - that will make my life a lot easier in the long run I feel.

Thanks!
M.

Try switching on the ignition then opening the passenger door and kneeling on the centre of the base of the seat then taking the key out, then restarting the car it cleared mine when the SRS light was on

check the seat belt pretensioner wires are intact coming out the buckle (can break at the buckle) and also the connection under each front seat is plugged in and correct
