w202 c180
Hey,

Has anyone here done an upgrade to the rear windows from manual wind downs to electric windows? specifically in a w202 c180 p reg. Just bought leathers off a member on here and made a school boy error of not asking about the rear windows.

Would i need a motor + button loom or would it be a complete new door or something stupid?

regards,

JC

You will need the motors and I would imagine the window regulators are different as well as wiring and the switches

I have no idea if the electric windows are controlled via any electronics in the car but if not it would be simple to make up a wiring loom, running it forward etc might be fiddly but not a major task. If in doubt though use an auto-electrician for safety.

Yeah you need the regulator and motor as one unit, early 202's are different from the facelift as the later ones have one hit closure.early ones are easier to retrofit.

You need the two electric motors that are cheap at a scrap yard

Two switches for both windows

In the pillar between both doors their is a connector that you plug into all you need is the small bit of loom from window motor to this plug it's about two feet long

Then you need the switch pack that has the four window switches on it and surround
Im sure I have one of you need it it's the carbon trim

I can take a few pictures if you need

That's it as the loom is all ready for the upgrade as they fit a generic loom that can take this option in factory

What year is your car is it a facelift model I don't understand what a p reg means I'm based in Ireland

Just seen that being a "P" reg it will be pre facelift,as I said above you need the regulator
framework with motor attached.and obviously a switch, was unaware the loom was already
there,should be easy!

I know the loom is their in the face lift w202

Not sure about the Pre facelift

I did it in my pre-facelift, but I think the auto electrician used facelift looms. So I have pre-facelift switches in the front all wired in and then facelift switches in the rear doors.

Hi

Just to clarify its a 1997 model.

I was worried there was not an existing power connection already, I will have a gander at the pillars when I strip the car out later this week. thanks!

As for the regulater and motor, is this what im after?

I didn't plan on having the switch board in the front console but if you have one horgon, I wouldn't mind a few pictures to see what im in for? Thanks!

If you need parts and trim
Many members have bits

I know I have
