W203 2002 C class flashing interior lights

Newbie here, I have a C180 Komp. from 2002. Lovely car, however the interior roof lights and the bottom of the door lights flash rapidly. Won't stay on as you would expect.

Another point, the indicator only stays on on right hand turns, left hand turns I have to hold it on. Is it likely to be a worn out stalk mechanism or related to above problem?

Possible causes....:

1. Have the interior bulbs been replaced with LED lights?

2. Poor/corroded Earth connection.

3. Issue with SAM module.

Thanks, no, they are standard bulbs, just reading about changing them for branded bulbs....
Where would I be checking the earth's for this issue on a w203?

Are interior lights and indicator controlled by the front SAM?

Still at a loss to diagnose this problem.Lights flash about twice a second, constantly when the doors are open or the interior lights are switched on inside.

Anybody ever suffered this?
