W203 APS Command Installation Question

i am in the process of installing the APS Command into my c270 w203, and i was wondering that once i've done it, the installation instructions online state that;

-----Have dealer Code COMAND and Cluster with Star DIagnosis

Does the dealer charge for this service?

Yes most likely. If they know what they are doing then it takes about 15 - 20 minutes including flashing the comand unit with the latest firmware.

Depending on your car, you will almost certainly need the car coded as it is unlikely that what you have on your MOST bus already (if you have one) will match what the Comand unit thinks should be there. This manifests itself as either the unit powering off shortly after you turn it (its expecting a fibre connection and you dont have one), or other fibre devices (phone, Cd changer, Harmon Kordon, linguatronic) dont work.
