Dear Friends,

please could someone with an avantgarde W203 sedan (better if a C270 like mine) post here ride height value. Please to specify if the car is equipped with optional sport chassis (mine have the code 486 "sport chassis" :D that if I'm not wrong have lower spring and 225 tyres on 16" wheels).

As far as mine is abt:
FRONT 35 cm
REAR 34.5 cm

Values are referred from wheel centre and lower part of the above fender

thanks so much for any information:)

PS: probably also elegance and classic sedan with optional sport suspension are interested.

Sounds like you definitely have the "sports suspension" option as this came with 225/50/R16 all round the car for front/rear.

I have the sports suspension on my Elegance.

If you want me to I'll try and measure up the ride height later on.

PS. When you have a rear seat passenger (sports suspension) the ride height noticeably lowers further (so better to have a rear seat passenger on each side). ;)

yes please:) I remember that you have an elegance with sport suspension;) for this reason I've indicated also elegance/classic with sport suspension.

If I'm not wrong with sport suspension your should be same height than mine... with sport suspension all should be same height, I'm wondering:rolleyes:

From factory avantagarde are lower respect classic/elegance, I'm asking myself if sport suspension on an avantgarde lower further

No.

"Sports" suspension is actually lower than the Avantgarde suspension by 1.3CM. When you factory upgraded you alloys on the W203 pre face lift it would automatically come with sports suspension depending on the style of alloys which also came with wider tyres all round (this being the 225/50s).

I have a C270CDi Estate Avantgarde (late 2004, facelift model) - without sports suspension - and my dealer told me that C Class Elegance and Avantgarde are the same suspension. It's only E Class that is lower for Avantgarde.

I must say that the ride is very hard in mine - if there is an even harder version of the suspension then I'm glad I haven't got it!

mmh there are something not clear to be:confused: . You said "no" but the explanation you reported seems me as "yes"(but my bad english may go wrong):o

as far as the wheels mine are like the avantgarde standard wheel 5 spoke (called here "tourin" if I'm not wrong) but increased to 225/55 tyres (factory should be 205), also the rear wheel have a different (higher) off set.

thank again:)

that's intersting! But do you have also the same ride height of factory classic/elegance cars?

Mine (but as said have the option code 486) is also quite firm:)

Have you checked on the well known russian link if your car is equipped, may be wrongly:D , with sport suspension code?

hey Guys, any news?
thanks

My car has standard Advantgarde SE suspension with 225/50 R16 on the back. It rides at 37cm front and 36 cm rear.

I agree with Rory Advantgarde spec is quite firm enough and thats why I didnt go for the sports edition because I read somewhere that the ride was dreadful! HTH

Mine is the late 2004 facelift version, and it's also an estate.

It has the standard Avantgarde wheels - 16" - 7J front (205/55) and 8J rear (225/50).

I have checked the Russian site previously and it doesn't show my car as having Sports suspension.

Don't know if it's the same as others - never checked!

thanks Guys for all the info:)

so it seems, according to R2D2 info, that my is lower than a factory avantgarde, probably due to the "sport cassis" option.

I've also the 225 tyres on 16" on all 4 wheels.

PS: hey R2Ds, have you received the new AMG wheels?:)

I never knew that AMG IVs fitted lorries... :p

Mine has the sports suspension
front 29.5 225/45 ZR17
rear 30 245/40 R17

Firm ride but not uncomfortable (but use to that with other cars) and corners well.
