w203 bonnet pops out lock from driver side

While driving my w203 the bonnet frequently pops out of the driver side lock giving the the red screen warning message in the instument cluster. It does it a lot and it very annoying as I have to stop driving open my bonnet and push it down again to close it properly and after a few minuted driving it happens again! I have tried to adjust the spring hook a few times but this does not seem to cure the problem. Has anyone else experience this before? Don I need to buy a new lock (the bottom part) or a new spring hook (the top part)? Or it is matter of adjustment or changing a faulty part?


P.S. I went also to a garage twice for the to try to adjust, in case I was not adjusting it properly but they failed as well the cure the problem.

Its never happened to me before , but i would be very concerned of this as ive been a victim of this happening to me a few years back whilst drivivng on the motorway and trust me when i say i nearly sh@t my pants i do mean literally.

Please be careful and get it sorted pronto.

i take it the car has not been to renault? lol i have an ongoing saga with the clio sport we have and the watchdog report on the bonnet catch, i now have a new 'racing' bonnet fitted for peace of mind but on a serious note get this sorted before it causes more serious problems.

Its normally the catch on the slam panel....they get loads of road crud stuck in them and they start to seize up......normally putting a new catch in cures it...not that expensive and just held in with a couple of bolts.
