My aircon / fan / blower etc has recently started to sound like a kettle boiling.

Any thoughts apart from turning the whole lot off?:dk:

just happened to a fiend of mine and it was the brushes worn out in the axial blower. Two T20 torx in the passenger footwell takes you to the blower box. 5 more screws and an electrical connector drops the fan on your head to take a look. 15 minute job first time. 5 minute next time.

Many thanks for the advice and much appreciated. MB are suggesting replacement fans and I believe there may be eight of them?????

I think there are 8 or 10 flap motors in the dash, but the actual main blower in in the pass footwell. Honestly, easy to get to.

Cool - will be having a butcher's shortly.

If you have full climate control then there are 10 stepper motors all araound the dash, some are difficult to get at and Mercedes will charge huge amount to fix, but its usually the little gears that go and make clicking noises every now and then because they can't set themselves.

Your noise doesn't sound like its those failing so definitly go for the blower motor and if you have full climate treat the car to new pollen filters while you're in the footwell (next to the blower motor)!

remove the a/c completely for hp gains
