My C Class (03) W203 is fitted with the standard 15"x6 which I understand have a 31mm offset and use 11mm Dia x 50 mm wheel bolts. [//www.alloywheelsdirect.net/information/fitting_chart/mercedes-benzFitting Chart]. I want to purchase steel wheels to fit but those online have 35 / 37 mm offset.

What are the max and min offset a rim I can fit to the car without it causing an issue or further modification?
Can I replace my 15” with 16” alloys with 35mm offset?

Copied from my car's owners manual (2006 W203):

Option a: 205/55 R16 91H (or 91V or 91W) on 7J x 16" H2 ET31 wheels, front and rear.

Option b: 225/45 R17 91W 7½J x 17" H2 ET36 wheels, front and rear.

Option c: 205/55 R16 92V (or 92W) on 7J x 16" H2 ET31 wheels at the front, 225/50 R16 92V (or 92W) on 8J x 16" H2 ET32 wheels at rear.

Option d: 225/45 R17 91W 7½J x 17" H2 ET36 wheels at the front, and 245/40 R17 91W on 8½J x 17" H2 ET34 wheels at the rear.

This will give you some idea regarding offsets of factory-fitted wheels.

I've upgraded my car standard 15" diameter steel wheels with 65-195-15 Tyre profile to 7Jx16H2 ET37 with 55-205-16 Tyre profile without any problem but needed four wheels alignment after that because the garage told me the car wheels alignment set up previously were based on 15" wheel diameter.

????? that should make no difference, your tracking must have been out before

My car a W203 51 plate has 7J x 16 H2 ET37 ALOY WHEELS fitted with sommer tyres but I am in the process of buying a set of steel wheels for winter the same size will fit also.

Don't forget to get a set of steel wheel bolts, they are different to the alloy ones.
