Yet more strange happenings in the car today!

Finished tonight, started the car and drove it out the car park, turned it off and withdrew the key to get out and lock the gates.

Returned to the car and after inserting key and letting the steering coloum move to its position tried to start it - nothing, everything in terms of lights as it should be. Took the key out and locked / unlocked the doors and tried again - started first time.

HOWEVER!

Two warning came up on the dash, brake pads reached limit and this one below (camera phone and it was dark!):-

Any ideas on this?

i had this problem on my car, it flashed up when i was out on a test drive, lol.

Many parts were fitted as part of the deal of my actually buying the car. In the end i got fed up with mercedes trying this and trying that so i took it to a man i know in murrymotors here in belfast.

He hooked it up to the laptop and found two problems...

1. The injectors were not balanced, i.e. the reading across the four cylinders were not around the same so a quick bottle of injector cleaner sorted that out, but not this EPC failure.

My problem was that when i drove the car slowly it was fine but if i accelerated at all the car shut off and this code flashed up....if i took the keys out and started again all was fine until i pushed hard on the go faster pedal...

so...

2. I needed a new high pressure pump, explaination was that it was applying enough pressure at low speeds but when any force was required it just cudnt cope and it threw up this fault..

Didnt cost me a penny at the time and now she is running fine. sorted.
