I have my 203 set to auto lock. Recently I've noticed that when I stop and open the drivers door it doesn't open the rest of the doors. It does when passenger door is opened but not drivers door.

Is this another symptoms of my sometimes bouncy central locking on the drivers door?? Or something else

Cheers

Chris

Mine is the same and same the father inlaws. If you want all doors open, hit the unlock button on the dash.

Is your remote opening all doors together, or only drivers door at first push and others with second? I just wonder if it's related to that feature (which is programmable)...

What you describe is to do with the way the remote is programmed, you can program the remote fob to;

Global Locking… all doors, boot and fuel filler flap unlock.
Or
Selective Locking… only drivers door and fuel filler flap unlock.

Hold down the lock and unlock button, together, for about 6 seconds, the Red LED will flash on remote fob.
Repeat to undo. There is greater detail in the User Manual.

Do you have d’bumpsie door lock?

Yes.... Got bumpsie door lock.

Doors opening and locking on remote is fine.

Have locking set to lock doors on drive off which they all do. The problem is when I stop. I open the drivers door but none of the other doors unlock...... And I'm sure they used to. If when I stop, the passenger door is opened, then all the other doors open.

Suppose I can live with it by using button on dash

You don’t understand what I’m saying about programming the remote fob.
For example, when I open my driver’s door, only the driver’s door and fuel filler flap unlock… that’s the way I have my remote fob programmed… this is Selective locking.
I can alternately program the remote fob to have it so that all doors unlock when I open the drivers door... this is Global locking.

Page 85 explains it better, see here… http://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/DigitalAssets/pdfmb/ownersmanual/2003_cclass.pdf

Dec. thanks for the reply ........ My car is set to global unlock and is set to auto lock on drive off.

I open the car with remote and all doors open. Drive off and all doors lock. When I stop, I open drivers door but rest of doors don't open ...... Which they used to

Chris

Have a look at the 3rd column on page 92 here… http://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/DigitalAssets/pdfmb/ownersmanual/2003_cclass.pdf

Perhaps this has something to do with the Central Locking Switch on the dash;

“If the vehicle was previously locked with the centrally locking switch
  • while in the selective remote control mode, only the door opened from the inside is unlocked.
  • while in the global remote control mode, the complete vehicle is unlocked when a door is opened from inside."

What year is the car?

Your W203 seems to be set up the same way as my W202, in the way it handles the lock/unlocking.
I can change over from Selective to Global locking by holding down the lock/unlock buttons for 6 seconds, so I can have it either way… Selective, one door unlock or Global, all doors unlock either from drivers inside door handle or from outside via the unlock button on the remote fob.

Unless you are missing something, in the way you are doing this, then it might be a fault of some kind.
Perhaps the bumpsie door lock fault is causing this problem.
Or
Your alarm siren, if it’s the original, is now about 11 years old so might be worth testing it, see here… http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/electronics/169666-w202-how-test-car-alarm.html

The alarm siren does play a role in locking and unlocking, if this is an actual fault, then it’s possible the alarm siren has a hand in it, that is, if it is faulty.
