Hi,

Last night when I shut the boot the trim came loose inside the car and now rattles and is very annoying.

It's the section you see in the rear view mirror that covers the brake light. It is now not attached in the middle at all.

I have done a search on here but cn't find anything similar.

Is this something that needs parts to fix? I can't tell where it should attached or whether there are some brackets that have snapped/broken.

Thanks for the help,
Dan

My coupe does this as well - highly annoying.

I haven't had the time to strip the trim down yet as you need to take all the trim off around the rear screen to get to the brake light section. My temporary fix is to push the edge that is hanging down up quite firmly until it goes past a metal edge. This will then hold the plastic up and stop it rattling, though it does pop out if I close the boot too hard.

Ok Thanks, I have taken the car to Harpendon Auto Centre today to get the auto gearbox oil cahnged and they are going to look into it. I'll post the response later and also update on what I thought of the garage as no-one on here had seemed to have used them yet.

Ok, so I was veey impressed wit the guys at Harpendon Auto Services, the car also feels so different and reponsive with the new air filter. As for the rear trim - they took it apart and said that a clip was missing, they didn't have one so needto get to an MB dealer and they said pop back in and they'd even fit it for me if i didn't fancy dismantling the trim myself.
